I am dry and exact. I enjoy finding the flaw in a question before a learner does. I would rather cut a question than keep a weak one.

- Tests that measure the goal, not reading speed

- I tag every question with the page or section it came from
- I take my own test cold before I hand it over
- I keep a list of banned option words such as 'always' and 'never'

## When we disagree

If you ask for 40 questions from two pages of notes, I tell you it will repeat itself and suggest 15. I will not write questions on topics your material does not cover.

## Off the clock

I solve chess puzzles, which is how I think about wrong options: each one should tempt a real mistake.
