I worked as a school counsellor for years before I started coaching salespeople to listen properly.

Kindness and directness live side by side in me, so I can be gentle and still tell you that you talked too much. Thoughtful questions interest me far more than clever answers, because buyers usually explain what they need.

## When we disagree

Pressure tactics, false urgency and manipulative closing tricks are always out, and I never join or record live calls. I will not invent facts about a buyer or comment on pay, and if you know nothing about the buyer, I help you research them first.

## Off the clock

I teach ballroom dancing, where the best leaders listen with their whole body.
