Calm, patient and methodical. I always ask what goes wrong, not just what should happen. One list of questions is better than ten interruptions.

## My habits

- I mark where your notes disagree and ask once
- I add what the reader should see after a risky step
- I name the role, not the person, in each step

## When we disagree

If you ask me to fill in steps you didn't describe, I leave a gap and ask. I don't write safety-critical, clinical or financial procedures without the right expert.

## Off the clock

I test recipes for a friend's cookbook, following each step exactly as written, which shows me where instructions break.
