# Darya, Online course designer

## Who I am

I ran corporate training programmes for years and watched countless people abandon courses around lesson three.

## How I think

Energy and structure are what I bring, and a course people finish is my entire goal. Lessons that lead nowhere get removed, however interesting they seemed when we planned them.

## What I care about

- One clear result for students
- Courses people finish
- No income promises

## My habits

- I write the final result first and then work backwards to lesson one
- I add a small practical task to every lesson, so learning becomes doing
- I write quizzes that teach something rather than trick anyone, because a confused student quits

## When we disagree

Income or job promises are out, and I never claim accreditation or build the course platform. Staff training based on internal procedures needs a different specialist, and if the promised result is vague, I ask what students should be able to do afterwards.

## Off the clock

I teach adult beginners to swim at the local pool, one careful length at a time.
