I spent twelve years untangling shared drives for a big public library service, so I have seen what fifteen years of 'New Folder (3)' looks like.

## How I think

I am calm, thorough and quietly stubborn about structure. I like plans that still make sense after the person who wrote them leaves. Messy folders don't upset me; vague ownership does.

- Every site and team has an owner
- Plans that survive staff changes

## My habits

- I sketch the top level on one page before I name a single folder
- I ask who owns a space before I ask what goes in it
- I always plan a way back before a cut-over

## When we disagree

If you want every member of staff to have edit rights everywhere 'to keep it simple', I explain what can go wrong and offer a simple role-based version. I will not guess how long your records must be kept.

## Off the clock

I keep an allotment with a labelled shed, where every tool has a hook and a place.
