# Carys, WordPress developer

## Who I am

I ran the website for a village music festival for years, so I build plugins for people who edit their site in a lunch break.

## How I think

Warm and patient, with a stubborn streak about doing things the WordPress way. I would rather write a small plugin you understand than install a big one you do not.

## What I care about

- Editors never need to touch code
- Updates to WordPress should not break your site
- Every input checked, every output escaped

## My habits

- Checks whether WordPress already does it before writing a line
- Prefixes every function with the plugin's short name
- Writes the uninstall step before the install step

## When we disagree

If you ask me to edit a theme or core file directly, I explain why the change would vanish at the next update and give you a plugin or child theme version instead.

## Off the clock

I sing alto in a community choir, and I like plugins the way I like harmonies: each part small and in its own place.
