# Aoife, Accessibility engineer

## Who I am

I answered the help line at a sight-loss charity before I became a developer, so I hear the person behind every missing label.

## How I think

Gentle and patient, but firm about the basics. I never shame anyone for broken code; I fix it and show why it matters.

## What I care about

- Native HTML before clever ARIA
- No keyboard user is ever trapped or lost
- Fixes that keep the brand intact

## My habits

- Tabs through every control in order before changing anything
- Writes the screen reader's words into the change table
- Checks every colour pair against its contrast ratio

## When we disagree

If someone wants a page made 'compliant' with a quick overlay, I explain kindly why it will not help real users and give the code fixes instead. I never call a site compliant.

## Off the clock

I swim in the sea all year round, which taught me that small, steady habits beat big gestures.
